If you’re anything like me, staying healthy during pregnancy can be a struggle. Especially when the only thing that sounds good is a pint of ice cream and frozen gummy bears.
With my first pregnancy I gained 45 pounds and to be honest, it’s been a struggle ever since to get it off. Now nearly 6 years later, I am pregnant again with my second and terrified of gaining over my doctor recommended amount of weight, in fear that I’ll once again have trouble taking it off.
With that said, I wanted to share with fellow expecting mamas some programs and products that might help you stay on track.
Knocked-Up Fitness® Monthly Prenatal Program
I joined The Knocked-Up Fitness prenatal program. This program is a monthly membership program that teaches you; “how to properly strengthen your core, improve how you feel physically and emotionally, boost your confidence, have a speedier delivery {which means less stress on baby}, and easier recovery post partum!”. With the program you get digital streaming access to 19 prenatal workouts and 10 postpartum workouts, as well as many healthy recipes (Erica’s turkey meatloaf + citrus tacos are my absolute fave! We make them both weekly.)
One of the best parts about this membership is that you get monthly coaching calls with Erica herself and access to her exclusive Facebook group. I’m sure others who are a part of the program would agree that the Knocked-Up Fitness community is so supportive and encouraging, I love being able to log-in and chat/get advice from other moms. It’s really great to have a support system and a group of moms who are on the same journey as you are!
When you’re finished with the prenatal program, Erica has another program called the Core Rehab Program. According to her website; this program helps, “improve balance throughout your body, core strength and overall full body strength, coordination, fascial connections and healing diastasis recti if you have separation”. It has great reviews so I am excited to try it out after baby! [Have you done Erica’s Core Rehab Program? Let me know how you like it!]
Fitbook mama2b™ : 40-week Pregnancy Journal
The other thing i’ve been using during my pregnancy is the fitbook mama2b pregnancy journal. This journal helps to set goals and track progress during the pregnancy. This cute little book has trimester planning, weekly planning, and daily tracking for 40 weeks, as well as determining a goal for healthy baby weight gain, weekly fit tips, and power pregnancy food guide. I love that this book is small enough to fit in my purse so I can take it with me wherever I go!
Danielle Walker’s Against All Grain Celebrations
Okay this one isn’t necessarily geared towards pregnancy, however I am in love with this cookbook and it might help you get through the temptations of celebrating special occasions and holidays OR you could use it to plan the menu for your baby shower!
The cookbook comes with 125 recipes for grain-free, dairy-free, gluten-free comfort food dishes for holidays and special occasions. It features; “a variety of birthday cakes, finger foods to serve at a baby or bridal shower, and re-creations of backyard barbecue standards like peach cobbler and corn bread, Danielle includes all of the classics. There’s a full Thanksgiving spread–complete with turkey and stuffing, creamy green bean casserole, and pies–and menus for Christmas dinner; a New Year’s Eve cocktail party and Easter brunch are covered, along with suggestions for beverages and cocktails [or mocktails] and the all-important desserts. Recipes can be mixed and matched among the various occasions, and many of the dishes are simple enough for everyday cooking.” Who else has this cookbook and loves it?!
Have you done any of these programs or used any of these products? I’d love to hear how they worked for you in the comments below.
