As some of you know I have been working on bettering my life and being the ‘best me ever!’. Well, I am so excited and happy to say that I have just successfully completed the Whole30 clean eating program! The program is from a book called It Starts with Food by Dallas and Melissa Hartwig. They say to think of it as a self-experiment for 30 days. So here’s what you do. You eat only real food. This means meat, seafood, eggs, a lot of vegetables, some fruit and good fats from fruits, oils, and nuts. You don’t eat any added sugar, alcohol, grains, legumes, or dairy and you only drink water, black coffee or tea for the entirety of the 30 days.

So what has changed in these last 30 days?

Lots! I feel much more energized and motivated. My nails have grown stronger and look much healthier than they previously did. I can sleep! I used to have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep without taking anything to help. Now I can fall asleep without any help, incredibly fast and I can stay asleep throughout the night. My headaches that I would get around noon every day, if I didn’t have any caffeine, are completely gone. I had random hip pain ever since my pregnancy, and you guessed it – it’s magically gone! I have found a new love for water (and naturally flavoring it with different fruit combos!) and a good amount of my cravings are pretty much gone. As an added bonus, I also lost 12 lbs in these 30 days and 2 inches off of each part of my body (each arm, each leg, waist and booty).

Now I begin the re-introductory phase to see how my body reacts to each of the items I took away and then I plan on continuing to eat well.
